Saurabh Bhardwaj: Aam Aadmi Party has accused BJP MLA Harish Khurana of assaulting and abusing a doctor on duty at Acharya Bhikshu Government Hospital in Delhi. The party says that despite the incident, an FIR has not been registered yet. Delhi State Convenor Saurabh Bhardwaj said that MLA Harish Khurana had abused and assaulted the doctor on Wednesday, but Delhi Police is reluctant to file a report. He said that the victim doctor demands that the CCTV footage be made public so that the truth can come out.

Fake photo case a day before

Saurabh Bhardwaj alleged that Harish Khurana was the person who shared a fake photo linking the accused of attacking Chief Minister Rekha Gupta with AAP MLA Gopal Italia. Later, several TV channels investigated the matter and proved that the picture was misleading.

Despite the exposure, Khurana did not delete the tweet, raising questions on political accountability. Bhardwaj claimed that this was an intentional attempt to spread misinformation and malign the image of AAP leaders. He demanded strict legal action, stating that such false propaganda creates public confusion and damages democracy.

Dispute Over Patient Priority Treatment

According to the complaint, the incident took place when doctors were attending patients in the casualty block of the hospital. Khurana’s supporters allegedly insisted that their patient should be examined first, ignoring the medical queue system. This triggered a heated argument between both sides, followed by abuses and a scuffle inside the ward.

The doctors claimed that such incidents disrupt hospital functioning and put the lives of other patients at risk. They demanded police protection, saying that doctors cannot work under constant threats and political pressure.

Hospital security also in question

Saurabh Bhardwaj highlighted that when the doctor called the hospital security guard for help, no assistance was provided. This, he said, exposed the weakness of internal hospital security arrangements. Bhardwaj reiterated his demand for the deployment of CISF in hospitals to ensure safety for both staff and patients. He warned that if a proper FIR is not registered, a delegation of AAP MLAs will meet the Delhi Police Commissioner on Friday. He added that the delegation will not return until the FIR is officially lodged, signaling a direct confrontation.
